Can a dog really detect mould?

Yes. Detection dogs are trained to alert to the odour (microbial volatile organic compounds, or mVOCs) released by mould, including mould hidden behind walls, under floors and in cavities. It’s the same scent-detection science used for decades in other fields, applied to mould.

Standard inspections rely on what’s visible or on a limited number of test points. A dog can quickly and non-invasively narrow down where hidden mould actually is — and because our handlers are also accredited technicians, we can then sample and document it.
No. Detection is non-invasive. If further investigation is needed (for example a borescope into a cavity), we discuss it with you first.

Yes. Every handler is a qualified mould testing technician trained through the Australian College of Environmental Studies, and an independently certified detection dog handler accredited through the American Working Dogs Association (AWDA).

No — we’re a detection and assessment service. We find and document the mould so you (or a remediation specialist) can act on it. We’re happy to explain your next steps.
We can’t provide medical advice or diagnoses. We can tell you whether mould is present and where. For health concerns, please see your GP.
Most residential inspections take [1–2 hours], depending on the size of the property.
