About Us

I’m Tracey Seymour, founder of Mould Dogs Australia. This business was born out of the hardest chapter of our family’s life.

Our journey began when my son became unwell — in ways that were frightening and hard to explain. He was eventually diagnosed with PANS (Paediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome), and like so many parents in that situation, we were searching everywhere for answers. When I discovered that hidden mould in our own home was affecting his health, everything shifted. For the first time, I had a thread to pull.

I couldn’t un-know what I’d learned. So I threw myself into it — studying building biology and qualifying as a certified mould testing technician through the Australian College of Environmental Studies, determined to help my own child. But something unexpected happened along the way. As I shared what I was learning in parenting groups and online, family after family reached out. They were living the same story: unwell kids, exhausted parents, doctors without answers, and no one thinking to look at the home.
I started my first inspection business, Break The Mould Inspections, almost by accident — and I was fully booked from the very first day. Helping families finally connect the dots between hidden mould and their children’s or family’s health became the most meaningful work I’ve ever done, and I found real joy in it.

I’ve long been fascinated by the mould detection dogs used overseas. As an inspector, I know there are times we simply can’t see through a wall, or there’s no visible sign of a problem at all — and that’s exactly where a trained dog becomes an extraordinary tool. Adding K9 detection to our service lets us offer families a level of certainty that inspection alone can’t always reach. That’s why I founded Mould Dogs Australia.
I never grew up dreaming of becoming a mould inspector. But I believe God’s hand has been on our family through all of it, and that this is the work I’m meant to do — serving others, and helping families avoid the heartache we went through.
